Dog Parks-Proposed Locations and Design

It is important that dogs of all sizes can exercise off leash, enjoy freedom, and engage in social interaction. Dog Parks are now open for use to the public at Mungret Park, Baggot Estate Park and The Demesne Park, Newcastle West.

Thanks to an allocation of €130,000 from the Mayor’s Fund by Mayor of Limerick, John Moran, Limerick City and County Council will be developing further Dog Parks and consider upgrading existing Dog Parks in 2025 and future years. Currently the proposed locations as at the 7 included location maps are being considered-where an area map shows 2 proposed locations only 1 location will be developed.

Limerick City and County Council welcome all submissions in relation to:

1/ The locations being proposed.

2/ Any additional locations that submitters wish to propose.

3/ The proposed design .

Please note that while all submissions will be considered development of a new dog park at any of the exact proposed locations is not guaranteed. Dogs will always remain the responsibility of the owner/handler.

Submissions or observations on the above can be made between Tuesday 29th April 2025 to Tuesday 27th May 5pm inclusive via the following methods:
