Supported by the Department of Rural and Community Development, Limerick City and County Council are leading the preparation of an Outdoor Recreation Plan for Limerick. This plan is to reflect the priorities of the national strategy, Embracing Ireland’s Outdoors – National Outdoor Recreation Strategy 2023-2027, and the relevant strengths, needs and aspirations of Limerick City and County for the next five years.
This plan has been developed collaboratively with Sector 3 Solutions consultants and a Project Team including representatives from Limerick City and County Council, Limerick Sports Partnership, West Limerick Resources Limited, Ballyhoura Development CLG, Failte Ireland and Coillte. The plan includes a record of consultation and analysis of the current offering of outdoor recreation in Limerick and culminates in seventeen proposed actions for the sustainable and strategic development of outdoor recreation in Limerick.
The Draft Limerick Outdoor Recreation Plan 2025-2030 is on public display during normal office hours from Wednesday 11th June 2025 to Thursday 3rd July 2025 inclusive at the following locations:

Cappamore Kilmallock Municipal Office, Áras Mainchin Seoighe, Kilmallock, Co. Limerick
As part of this stage of the public consultation process, Limerick City and County Council invites the public to come along to the following open drop-in events that will take place on:

Wednesday 25th June 2025 from 4pm – 7pm in Deebert House Hotel, V35 KV62

Submissions or observations on the Limerick Outdoor Recreation Plan 2025-2030 may be made between Wednesday 11th June 2025 to Thursday 3rd July 2025 inclusive, via the following methods:
