NOTICE OF PROPOSED EXTINGUISHMENT OF PUBLIC RIGHT OF WAY

Notice is hereby given that Limerick City and County Council, in pursuance of Section 73 of the Roads Act 1993, proposes to extinguish by order the Public Right of Way described in the Schedule hereunder.

A copy of the schedule and map will be available for inspection and/or purchase at a fee not exceeding the reasonable cost of making a copy, from Friday 6th June 2025 up to and including Wednesday 9th July 2025 during public opening hours (excluding bank holidays) at:

  • Corporate Headquarters, Merchant’s Quay, Limerick, V94 EH90
  • County Hall, Dooradoyle, Limerick, V94 WV78.

The schedule and map will also be available for inspection online during the above timeframes at mypoint.limerick.ie

Objections or representations in relation to the proposal to extinguish the public right of way should be made:

  • In writing to the Administrative Officer, Travel and Transport Strategy Section, Limerick City & County Council, Corporate Headquarters, Merchants Quay, Limerick V94 EH90
  • By email to travelandtransportstrategy@limerick.ie
  • Online at mypoint.limerick.ie

Objections or representations must be received on or before 4pm on Friday 25th July 2025.

Any person making such a written objection or representation may include in their submission a request that they be allowed to state their case at an oral heading conducted by a person who may be appointed for such purposes by Limerick City and County Council if considered appropriate in accordance with Section 71(1)(d) of the Roads Act 1993.

SCHEDULE RIGHT OF WAY WHICH IT IS PROPOSED TO EXTINGUISH

Accommodation road (L-5124-1) in the townlands of Towlerton and Singland, Ballysimon, Co. Limerick from Points A1 – A2 to Points B1 – B2 on said map for a distance of 150m approximately. The section is highlighted in red hatching on said map.
