Park Road Bridge rehabilitation works

Pursuant to the requirements of Section 177AE of the Planning & Development Act 2000 (as amended) and the requirements of the Planning & Development Regulations 2001 (as amended), notice is hereby given that Limerick City and County Council has furnished to An Coimisiún Pleanála with significant further information with respect to the rehabilitation works on Park Road Bridge, Co. Limerick. Significant notice of information originally published on 15th November 2025. Pursuant to the notice published on 15th November 2025, this is an addendum notice extending the submissions period until 26th of January 2026.

The further information consists of:

  • Uisce Eireann Diversion Agreement
  • Mizen Archaeology and Ecology Research & Solutions Ltd report
  • Park Canal NIS- Addendum
  • Park Road Bridge Underwater Archaeological Impact Assessment report
  • Response to RFI

A copy of the plans and particulars including the Natura Impact Statement will be available for inspection and/or purchase at a fee not exceeding the reasonable cost of making a copy, up to and including 26th January 2026 during public opening hours (excluding bank holidays) at

  • Customer Services Desk, Limerick City & County Council, Merchant’s Quay, Limerick, V94 EH90
  • Planning and Environmental Services Department, Limerick City & County Council Offices, Dooradoyle Road, Limerick, V94 WV78.
  • Plans and particulars of the proposed development will also be available for inspection online during the above timeframes at https://mypoint.limerick.ie.

Submissions or observations may be made to Coimisiún Pleanála on the proposed development in relation to:

  • The implications of the proposed development for proper planning and sustainable development in the area concerned.
  • The likely effects on the environment of the proposed development, and
  • The likely significant effects of the proposed development on a European Site if carried out.

 

Submissions or observations may only be made in writing to An Coimisiún Pleanála, 64 Marlborough Street, Dublin 1, DO1 V902 or may be submitted by email to laps@pleanala.ie not later than 5.30pm on 26th January 2026.

A person may question the validity of a decision by An Coimisiún Pleanála by way of an application for judicial review, under Order 84 of the rules of the Superior Courts (S.I. No.15 of 1986) in accordance with Section 50 of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended).
