PART 8 DEVELOPMENT

PLANNING & DEVELOPMENT REGULATIONS 2001 (as amended)

 

In accordance with Part XI of the (Planning & Development) Acts, 2000 (as amended) and Part 8, Article 81 of the Planning and Development Regulations 2001 (as amended), notice is hereby given that Limerick City and County Council proposes to carry out the development described hereunder at the following site at Castletroy Neighbourhood Park, Castletroy College Road, Newtown, Limerick.

 

The proposed development will consist of the construction of a new Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) and extension of the existing playground area including associated site works and provision of drainage and lighting.  The works will include preparation of the site to receive the MUGA and the installation of a protective perimeter fence to the play area, installation of a range of play and exercise equipment, site furniture and resin bound surfacing.

 

Limerick City and County Council has carried out an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Screening Report in accordance with the requirements of Article 120(1B)(b)(i) and has determined that there is no real likelihood of significant effects on the environment. Accordingly, it has been determined that EIA is not required in respect of this proposed development. Nonetheless, a person may within 4 weeks from the date of the notice, apply to An Bord Pleanála for a screening determination.

 

In accordance with S.I 476, 2011, Section 250, Planning and Development (Amendment No. 3) Regulations, 2011, the Council has carried out a screening and it has been determined that an appropriate assessment is not required.

Submissions and observations in relation to the proposed development, dealing with the proper planning and sustainable development of the area in which the development would be situated, will be accepted up to 4 p.m. on ­­­­­­­Friday 24th July 2020 in writing to Planning and Environmental Services Department, Limerick City and County Council, Dooradoyle, Limerick V94 WV 78

 

Note: Only submissions made in the above manner will be considered as valid submissions for the purposes of the Chief Executive’s Report that will be presented to Council.
