In accordance with Part XI of the (Planning and Development) Acts 2000 (as amended) and Part 8, Article 81 of the Planning and Development Regulations 2001 (as amended), notice is hereby given that Limerick City and County Council proposes to carry out the following temporary development at Patrickswell Limerick.
The proposed temporary development will consist of the provision of car and bus parking as part of a Park & Ride scheme associated with the Ryder Cup in 2007.
The temporary car park will use an existing vehicle access on the L1407 local road. All installations associated with the Park & Ride facility are temporary and removable with the lands to be returned to existing use within one month after completion of the Ryder Cup.
This Part 8 Planning Application is being submitted in conjunction with separate applications for the provision of temporary Park & Ride facilities at Annacotty, Croagh North & South and Croagh West and will form part of a larger overall transport plan for the Ryder Cup.
The development is to be carried out in the townland of Richmondvilla, Limerick.
The Local Authority has carried out an assessment of need for an Environmental Impact Assessment and determined that the development does not fall within the scope of the EIA Directive or the EIA provisions of the Planning and Development Regulations or the Roads Act and consequently no EIA requirements apply to it.
Nonetheless, a person may within 4 weeks from the date of the notice, apply to An Coimisiún Pleanála for determination as to whether this development is required to be subject to EIA. Such a submission should be addressed to the Secretary, An Coimisiún Pleanála, 64 Marlborough Street, Dublin 1 D01 V902
Limerick City and County Council in accordance with the requirements of Article 250(1) of the Planning and Development Regulations 2001 (as amended) has carried out an Appropriate Assessment (AA) Screening and has determined that a full Appropriate Assessment is not required in respect of the proposed development.
Plans and particulars of the proposed development will be available for inspection or purchase at a fee not exceeding the reasonable cost of making a copy from 24th October 2025 up to and including 24th November 2025 (4 Weeks) at the Customer Services Desk, Limerick City & County Council, Merchant's Quay, Limerick V94 EH90 between 9a.m. - 5p.m. Monday to Friday (excluding Bank Holidays), at the Planning, Environment and Place Making Department, Limerick City & County Council Offices, Dooradoyle Road, Limerick V94 WV78, at the Aras Sean Finn, New Line, Rathkeale, Co. Limerick, V94 HK1V, at Aras Mainchin Seoighe Area Office Kilmallock Co Limerick V35 K497 and at Newcastle West Municipal District Office Aras William Smith O Brien, Limerick City and County Council, Gortboy, Newcastle West, Co. Limerick V42 EH73 between 9 a.m. - 4 p.m, Monday to Friday (excluding Bank Holidays).
Plans and particulars of the proposed development will be available for inspection online during the above timeframes at https://mypoint.limerick.ie.
