The existing LAP identifies 7 Protected Structures which contribute to the architectural heritage in the village.  There are 3 further individual monuments in the village listed on the Record of Monuments and Places for their archaeological significance and a further 6 monuments located just outside the LAP boundary.

The area’s heritage is an important consideration for new  developments in order to conserve the area’s character and to create a ‘sense of place’. Conservation and enhancement of the area’s heritage assets, including blue green infrastructure and biodiversity will contribute to the attractiveness of Patrickswell as a desirable place to live, shop and work and for communities to take pride in.
