Active Travel & Improvement Works along R512 Kilmallock
Notice is hereby given that, pursuant to Section 38 (3) of the Road Traffic Act 1994, as amended by the Public Transportation Regulation Act, 2009 (Section 46), Limerick City & County Council hereby gives notice of its intention to introduce the following road amendments on R512 Kilmallock, County Limerick.
1.8m wide footpath extends on the south side along the extents of the Mart;
2.5m wide footpaths on the north side from the Further Education Centre up to the first private access after the R512/R515 junction;
Junction tightening at the R512/R515;
Footpaths and parking bays on the R515;
Raised crossing points for pedestrians;
Existing carriageway is narrowed to 5.5m;
Improved footpath widths from the Parochial House to continue on the north side across Gotoon Rail Overbridge until it ties into the existing footpath;
Provision of traffic lights for approximately 270m to limit traffic to one direction of travel at a time (shuttle running), at Gotoon Rail Overbridge;
Drawings and particulars of the proposed project are available for inspection at Kilmallock Area Office, Railway Rd, Kilmallock, Co. Limerick (V35 K497) and may be inspected during normal office hours from Friday 18th of October to Monday 18th of November 2024 inclusive. They are also available for inspection online during the above timeframe at https://mypoint.limerick.ie
Submissions or observations regarding the proposal may be made in writing marked for the attention of the Active Travel Department to the above office or online at https://mypoint.limerick.ie on or before 4pm on Monday 18th of November 2024.
