+CityxChange is a Horizon 2030 EU project which is working to transform how Limerick uses and produces energy. Limerick City & County Council is working with different partners – MPower, University of Limerick, GKinetic, among others – to trial new kinds of technology and community solutions to turn Limerick into a positive energy city – a city that produces more energy than it consumes.
The Georgian Neighbourhood has been selected as the focus area for the work of the project.
We need the help of residents, businesses and property owners in the Georgian neighbourhood to better understand how energy is being used in the area. This will allow us to identify the best areas to target for energy-related interventions. We hope to work with the residents and owners of the area to install renewable energy sources (solar panels, as one example) and connect these sources to collectively harness the energy they generate.
