LIMERICK CITY AND COUNTY COUNCIL

NOTICE OF PREPARATION OF A DRAFT LIMERICK CITY AND ENVIRONS GREEN AND BLUE INFRASTRUCTURE STRATEGY

Notice is hereby given of the Limerick City and County Council Draft Limerick City and Environs Green and Blue Infrastructure Strategy.

The Draft Strategy has been prepared to build on and assist the delivery of our ambitious vision for Limerick, set out in the newly adopted Development Plan, to create a ‘Green City Region on the Shannon Estuary connected through people and places’. The aim is to inform and guide the development of green and blue spaces, including our rivers, parks and open green spaces, to enhance access for all, while protecting the value of our natural heritage and biodiversity.

The Draft Strategy sets out a number of objectives and projects that can be delivered in partnership with local people, community groups and businesses. As part of this consultation process we would value your input and ideas on the Draft Strategy and how it can respond to climate change by promoting the greening of our City, create new spaces for people to play and visit, and to enhance and protect biodiversity.
