Review of the Abbeyfeale Local Area Plan 2014 - 2020 (As Extended) - Publication of Issues Paper

NOTICE OF COMMENCEMENT OF THE REVIEW OF THE ABBEYFEALE LOCAL AREA PLAN 

Limerick City and County Council is commencing the review of the Abbeyfeale Local Area Plan 2014 - 2020 (As Extended) and the preparation of a new Local Area Plan for Abbeyfeale 2023 - 2029.   

To assist in preparing the Draft Plan, an Issues Paper outlining the key issues to be addressed in the new Local Area Plan has been prepared, and may be obtained from the Council’s website www.limerick.ie, the Forward Planning Section, Economic Development and Enterprise Directorate, Merchant’s Quay, Council Office in County Hall, Dooradoyle and Newcastle West, and the public library in Newcastle West and Abbeyfeale during normal office hours throughout the public consultation period, which will run from the 22nd October 2022 – 5th December 2022 inclusive. 

Limerick City and County Council welcome your submissions/observations in relation to the preparation of the Local Area Plan during the initial six-week public display period of the Issues Paper. Children, or groups or associations representing the interests of children, are entitled to make submissions or observations.  

Any pre-draft submissions on the key issues affecting Abbeyfeale that you wish to have taken into account in the preparation of the new Local Area Plan for the area, should be made in writing to the Forward Planning Section, Economic Development and Enterprise Directorate, Merchants Quay, Limerick, emailed to forwardplanning@limerick.ie or uploaded to https://mypoint.limerick.ie up until close of business on Monday 5th December 2022.  

  All submissions/observations received during this period will be considered by the Council in the drafting of the Draft Abbeyfeale Local Area Plan. Submissions received by the Planning Authority will be published on the Limerick City and County Council website within 10 working days of receipt.  Please do not include personal, confidential or other sensitive information in submissions/observations.

A public meeting will be held in Abbeyfeale on Thursday 24th November in Abbeyfeale Workbase, Main Street, Abbeyfeale between 3pm and 7pm.
