NOTICE OF COMMENCEMENT OF THE RATHKEALE LOCAL AREA PLAN
Limerick City and County Council is commencing the review of the Rathkeale Local Area Plan 2012 - 2018 (As Extended) and the preparation of a new Local Area Plan for Rathkeale 2022 - 2028.
To assist in preparing the Plan, an Issues Paper outlining the key issues to be addressed in the new Local Area Plan has been prepared, and may be obtained from the Council’s website www.limerick.ie, the Forward Planning Section, Economic Development Directorate, Merchant’s Quay, County Hall, Dooradoyle, and the public library in Rathkeale during normal office hours during the public consultation period, which will run from 6th November 2021 – 20th December 2021.
Limerick City and County Council welcome your submissions in relation to the preparation of the proposed Rathkeale Local Area Plan during the initial six-week public display period of the Issues Paper.
Children, or groups or associations representing the interests of children, are entitled to make submissions or observations.
Any pre-draft submissions on the key issues affecting Rathkeale, that you wish to have taken into account in the preparation of the new Local Area Plan for the area, should be made in writing to the Forward Planning Section, Economic Development Directorate, Merchant Quay, Limerick or can be emailed to forwardplanning@limerick.ie up until close of business on Monday 20th December 2021.
Should you wish to meet with the Forward Planning Section, please contact as detailed below to arrange a meeting strictly by appointment 2pm – 7pm in the Rathkeale House Hotel on Thursday 25th November 2021, subject to adherence to government advice on Covid 19.
All submissions received during this period will be considered by the Council in the drafting of the draft Rathkeale Local Area Plan. Details including the names of those making submissions may be shared with relevant Council Departments or their agents involved in the making of the LAP. Submissions will form part of reports associated with the making of the Local Area Plan which will be available online.
