R523 Ardagh Ramps
Notice is hereby given that, pursuant to Section 38 (3) of the Road Traffic Act 1994, as amended by the Public Transportation Regulation Act, 2009 (Section 46), Limerick City and County Council proposes to introduce traffic calming measures in form of 2 ramps on the R523 at Ardagh village.
The speed limit along the R523 in Ardagh village is 50kmph with Traffic volumes approaching 2000 AADT and speed limit violations of 17%. The provision of 2 number ramps have been examined in accordance with the Limerick City & County Council Traffic Calming Policy for Urban Areas. The locations of the proposed ramps on R523 are at the pump and immediately below the church. These locations will be marked on the road surface.
Maps showing the location of the proposed ramps may be inspected at the following location during normal office hours, for a period of one month, from Thursday 2nd June 2022 at Newcastle West Area Office, Gortboy, Newcastle West, Co. Limerick and are also available on the Limerick City and County Council MyPoint at https://mypoint.limerick.ie
Observations or representations in relation to the proposal may be made, in writing and marked Section 38 – R523 Ardagh ramps, to the District Roads Engineer, Newcastle West District Office, Limerick City and County Council, Aras William Smith O’Brien, Gortboy, Newcastle West, Co. Limerick or via MyPoint at https://mypoint.limerick.ie and must be received by 4pm on Thursday, 30th June 2022
