Go ahead with proposed improvement of cycling infrastructure
To see better better pedestrian & cycling infrastructure into Limerick City.
Please make it happen and don't give in to spurious arguments Reconsider prioritising on-street parking (the storage of stationary, empty vehicles) over the safe movement of people by walking and cycling (section from Fennessys to Ballinacurara Rd junction)
Adequate protection for cyclists and pedestrians
Bring the cycle lanes to the roundabout at the Crescent
Design to proper standards.
I urge you to reject this plan until a well researched, safe, fair and equal plan for all residents/business is drawn up.
Deliver the scheme quickly
Make more cycle lanes.
The proposal should be rejected.
NO to kerbside traffic lane as currently planned. Yes to making Henry St one way from Clareview Terrace to Arthur's Quay. Yes to herringbone parking format. Yes to improving our neighbourhood. Yes to reducing traffic. Yes to bike lanes. Yes to using Limerick's lanes as bike paths.
That people would respect more shared space
Fix for :- Dangerous left turn towards Crescent SC; Parking real-estate to be considered for SCR;
Segregated cycle lanes, safe pedestrian routes, reduced use of cars, reduced on-street car parking.
Planners must take bold steps.
Proceed with the plan
Consider other options, ie Ballincurra Road or Dock Road
I fully support the plans for the development of the south circular road to city centre active travel scheme in the interest of public health and safety in Limerick City
Please put in the cycling lane on scrd
Connect at Mill Lane to existing cycle lane
2 way segregated cycle lane for full extent of the scheme (no on road cycling). Remove left turn into crescent shopping centre to allow extra wobble room for 2 way cycle lane for cyclists climbing bridge and avoid cyclists descending fast.
One way system for SCR from Ballinacurra Rd to New St. Amend filtered permeability arrangement to prevent cars passing it out. Split cycle lane over R526 bridge. No right turn movements from SCR onto Ballinacurra rd.
Do a 4 Week Trial blocking off Ballinacurra Road access before Christmas. Meeting people who have concerns helping to allay their fears....set up a team of people who will listen but who also understand the merits of the scheme to go door to door!
One disappointing aspect of the proposal is the lack of inclusion of safe crossing points in the form of either zebra crossings or traffic-lighted crossings at points surrounding the school where path continuance has been included (Clontarf Place, O'Curry Street, St. Gerard's Street and St. Alphonsus Street). Please consider including this in your final plans as it would greatly enhance safety during our school community’s daily commute.
We request that we are kept informed of any further developments related to the proposed changes to the traffic flow on the South Circular Road
1. Continuing access to home support services for vulnerable groups 2.Ability to upgrade and adapt the older homes in SCRd area for energy security and mobility needs 3.New regulated traffic junction in Ballinacurra Road to allow safe right turn onto busy road 4.Omission of proposed seating/ planting area at Greenpark Avenue Junction with SCRd to maintain visibility for increased traffic flows from Greenpark Avenue 5.Maintenance and supervision of all new planting area by the Local Authority or their agents to ensure that the public realm would not deteriorate .
Do a four week trial before Christmas as suggested
I request this proposal not be approved in its current form.
Reconsider the plans to make it safer for the residents of County View Terrace
Propose Dock road is used for this scheme instead of SCR
Maintain the overall vision of encouraging modal shift
Reject the proposal
Hello my family has lived in the ballinacurra area for 40 years. My friends that I visit regularly live on SCR too. The new council proposal to have all the traiffic use Lifford Ave and the removal of all parking on SCR road is beyond ridiculous. A lot of elderly live in the area. Where would you like them to park? Do they have to walk to a bus stop with their sticks to get a bus? Or do you expect 80 year olds to get on a bike? The number of people that would benefit from a bike lane in this area is minimal. Im guess maybe 4 a day. The amount of people who will suffer, namely the residents, is huge. If you want to put in a bike lane put it on the dock road. Its wide enough, no residents etc. Its the most logical place.
proceed as outlined
South Circular Rd to City Centre Active Travel route be implemented
This proposal should go forward.
Full implementation of the proposal in it's currently proposed format.
Full implementation of the proposal in it's currently proposed format.
1. Traffic lights at the Ballinacurra South Circular Road Junction. 2. Addressing the problems which will arise at the Lifford Avenue intersection 3. Realistic parking for residents from Summerville Avenue to Gerard Street 4. Enforcement of traffic regulations
As above
To look again at the current plans
I request this proposal not be approved in its current form.
Make Henry street one way with a two way cycle lane
1. A full set of Traffic Lights at the Ballinacurra / SCR junction. 2. Enforce the law regarding parking near the schools. 3. Provide realistic parking options for residents between New Street and Redemptorist's Church
Please carry out impact studies on Traffic in the city. Ensure there is a model to show how it all works together. Explain how older people without parking can exist. Protect residents from illegal stopping / parking of cars.
incorporate these suggestions in to the plans
Request that a lane of traffic be removed from Henry Street outside our premises and the parking be retained on both sides of the street. Request that a loading bay suitable for trucks and vans be installed on O'Curry St at No 80 Request that seating be omitted from the plans outside our building
Additional Traffic calming on Quinn/St Gerard Street and safe access from the cycle path on SCR to the Modhscoil.
Impact
Please Proceed
Extension of cycle paths to connect with O'Connell Street
Consider a full block at the SCR/Lifford Avenue junction.
