NOTICE OF COMMENCEMENT OF THE REVIEW OF THE SOUTHERN ENVIRONS LOCAL AREA PLAN 2011 - 2017 (as Extended)

Limerick City & County Council is commencing the review of the Southern Environs Local Area Plan 2011 - 2017 (Extended until May 2021) and the preparation of a new Local Area Plan for the Southern Environs 2021.

To assist in preparing the Plan, a background document outlining the issues to be addressed in the new Local Area Plan has been prepared, and may be obtained from the Council’s website www.limerick.ie, the Forward/Strategic Planning Section, Economic Development Directorate, Merchant’s Quay, County Hall, Dooradoyle, and the public libraries in The Granary, Dooradoyle and Watchouse Cross during normal office hours from Saturday 25^th July 2020 – Monday 7^th September 2020 (inclusive).

The statutory period for making submissions on the proposed Southern Environs Local Area Plan will be during the six-week public display period of the background document. The proposed plan is anticipated to go on public display in October 2020.

Children, or groups or associations representing the interests of children, are entitled to make submissions or observations.

Any pre-draft submissions on the key issues affecting the Southern Environs, that you wish to have taken into account in the preparation of the new Local Area Plan for the area, should be made in writing to the Forward/Strategic Planning Section, Economic Development Directorate, Merchant Quay, Limerick or can be emailed to forwardplanning@limerick.ie up until Monday the 7^th September 2020. All submissions received during this period will be considered by the Council in the drafting of the new Southern Environs Local Area Plan. Details including the names of those making submissions may be shared with relevant Council Departments or their agents involved in the making of the LAP. Submissions will form part of reports associated with the making of the LAP which will be available online.
