Dawn Chorus
As part of the GoGreenRoutes project, Limerick City and County Council, are hosting a community Dawn Chorus event. As a group we will walk along the greenway.
Starting point: Castletroy greenway entrance beside Castletroy College, Newtown, Limerick (V94 6D85).
Strolling along the greenway we will hear the dawn chorus which is one of the most magical experiences in nature. It is a multitude of birds of many different species all singing together in harmony as morning breaks and light begins to fill the skies. The chorus is at its best around 30 minutes either side of sunrise. The month of May is a great time to hear it!
**Registration for those 18 years and older. A legal guardian must register for the event on the behalf of those younger than 18 years of age. Children must be supervised at all times during the event by their parent/guardian/carer. Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear. Parking available at Castletroy playground.
