NOTICE OF HAVING PREPARED A DRAFT LOCAL AREA PLAN FOR ADARE
Pursuant to Section 20 of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended) notice is hereby given that Limerick City and County Council being the Planning Authority for the area, has prepared a Draft Local Area Plan (LAP) for Adare.
The Draft Adare Local Area Plan 2024 - 2030 (Volume 1) comprises a written statement and maps and is accompanied by a Draft Public Realm Plan (Volume 2) and Strategic Environmental Assessment Environmental Report, Appropriate Assessment Natura Impact Statement and Strategic Flood Risk Assessment (Volume 3).
A copy of these documents may be inspected from the 19th August 2023 – 2nd October 2023 inclusive, excluding Bank Holidays at the following locations:
Corporate Head Quarters, Merchant’s Quay, Limerick;
County Hall, Dooradoyle Road, Limerick;
Adare Library, Adare
Limerick City Library, Barrow House, Michael Street, Limerick;
Members of the public and interest groups are invited to attend a drop-in public information evening on Thursday 7th September 2023, between 3pm - 7pm in the Village Hall, Adare.
Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA):
In complying with SEA Directive (2001/42/EC) and the Planning and Development (Strategic Environmental Assessment) Regulations 2004 to 2011, an Environmental Report has been prepared and accompanies the Draft Plan.
Appropriate Assessment:
In accordance with the requirements of Article 6 of the EU Habitats Directive 92/43/EEC, a Natura Impact Statement has been prepared and accompanies the Draft Plan.
Submissions/Observations:
Submissions/Observations may be made in respect of the Draft Adare Local Area Plan, Draft Public Realm Plan and associated Environmental Reports from 19th August – 2nd October 2023 inclusive.

Please make your submission by one medium only i.e. in hard copy, online or e-mail.
Any submissions or observation shall state your name and where relevant, the body or organisation represented. Children or groups or associations representing the interests of children area entitled to make submission or observations to the Draft Local Area Plan.
All submissions or observations made during the submission period with respect to the Draft Adare Local Area Plan 2024 – 2030, the Draft Public Realm Plan and associated environmental reports and received by 5pm on Monday 2nd of October 2023, will be taken into consideration by the Council before making of the Local Area Plan.
Submissions received by the Planning Authority will be published on the Limerick City and County Council website within 10 working days of receipt, along with your name in accordance with the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended). Please do not include personal, confidential or other sensitive information in submissions.
