To actually name this an Active Travel Scheme to the City Centre is quite remarkable. The objectives set out in Limerick Shannon Metropolitan Area Transport Strategy are not being adhered to, the needs of people that will use this are not being met and the residents of Farranshone are being ignored. When will it ever be safe to cycle in Limerick? When can a student cycle from Moylish to the City knowing above all, they are safe? When can kids in this community freely hop on their bikes knowing , the powers that be have their safety and best interests at heart? You have an opportunity to continue with a segregated cycle path after High Road, the decision for one not to be included needs to be revised. You have an opportunity to do so much more besides, be ambitous and actually implement an Active Travel Scheme for the benefit of people
