Objection to proposed South Circular Road Active Travel Scheme

To whom it may concern,

My name is Fiona Noctor and I Live at Mount Prospect on the existing one way system on the SCR. This scheme will not work on this road or offer any traffic calming solution. 

PARKING SPACES
I hold an approved residential permit by the council, however there will not be enough parking spaces available with the proposed scheme for me or my partner to park our cars. Where will we park our cars?
I propose you do not change anything on this road and instead use the Dock road or O’Connell avenue as an alternative for this cycle lane.

OIL DELIVERY
•    I live at Mount prospect, Where there is one side shared gate to provide right of way access for 5 houses, all of which have oil tanks with no front 
        access to the houses.
•    As is stands, during a delivery the oil truck takes over most of the road, and cars slowly ease around the truck for approx. 20 mins.
•    If there is a bicycle lane put in place with bollards etc. this will cause a 20 minute traffic Jam on the one way system all the way along SCR.
•    There are no back gates to any of these houses or access to the back of the houses from the road.
•    I propose you do not change anything on this road and instead use the Dock road or O’Connell avenue as an alternative for this cycle lane.

BUILDING WORKS
I plan on having house repairs completed to both the front and back of my house. With no parking available where will the trucks/vans cement mixers etc park? 
For anybody on this road who wish to extend their homes, where do builders park their trucks etc?

DISABLED/WHEELCHAIR USERS/ELDERLY 
For both existing and future disabled drivers and passengers as well as Wheelchair users and the elderly, Where will they park their cars? Its not feasible to have somebody walk half a kilometer home with a disability. 
I would propose the dock road would be more suited to this scheme as less residents will be impacted.

VISITORS AND FAMILY
There are no parking options for visiting friends and family in particular for elderly people. 

EMERGENCY SERVICES 
If a bicycle lane is build there will not be enough room for access for emergency vehicles. Also Ambulance or fire truck will block the entire road creating a traffic jam

CARS DRIVING WRONG WAY ON ONE WAY ROAD
At least 3 times per week, we already see cars driving in the wrong direction on the one way street. At the moment the cars can maneuver to resolve the issue, however with a bicycle lane in place, there will not be any maneuverability. This again will create a traffic Jam. It only takes one driver who hasn’t read the one way street sign to create this chaos.
