Supporting the Limerick Cycle Scheme

I would like to express my strong support for the scheme. Any infrastructure that reduces car usage and supports active travel has tremendous benefits for the people in Limerick City. It favours people of all age groups, people with disabilities and non-drivers. Motorists will also benefit from the scheme since this scheme will help reduce congestion in the area. Concerns about deliveries are valid but the issue can be easily rectified if couriers use heavy duty trolleys on cycleways.
This scheme will also have a positive impact for tourism and businesses in the service sector since it has the potential to link Limerick Greenway with the planned Scariff Greenway in the near future.
