Expanding the boundary of Caherconlish Local Area Plan & other SWOT
Proposal
The Local Area Plan (2016-2022) had areas of land zoned for educational purposes has now been removed from the current draft LAP and after reviewing and comparing the map of the local area and investigating how to be congruent with the strategic vision of the Limerick City & County Council (appendix.1 ref: 3.1 Strategic Vision) the proposal is for the land on the southwest side of the village (appendix. 2 ref: zoned land map) coloured in green and yellow within the blue boundary line be added to the Caherconlish Local Area Plan to enlarge the area of the village that is being considered. This proposal is to encompass the current grounds of the tennis club which has a feasibility study in place for the development of the site and to support future planning that includes the provision for growth in population and caters for the education, community, and open space for recreation. The current Caherconlish Local Area Plan boundary has little or no scope for developments to cater for the education, community and recreation needs of the village.
