Low quality, unusable cycle storage facilities proposed
The resident's cycle storage facilities appear to comprise of a staggered wall hung layout. This layout is only suitable for male users with standard lightweight bicycles and therefore inaccessible to many potential users (those not physically able to lift a cycle onto a wall hanger) and cycle types (heavy Dutch style cycles, tricycles, cargo bikes/trikes, etc). This layout does not allow cycle frames to be locked securely either. The proposal does not attempt to meet the needs of those who cycle - it simply tries to comply with the requirement of providing a predefined number of cycle storage spaces, regardless of whether they are accessible or not. More space has been allocated to bin storage than cycle storage. An alternative cycle storage design should be produced that caters for a number of non-standard cycles and is accessible to all user types.
