Proposed Drawings Architect

To whom it concerns,

I’m writing to you today in response to the plans for Narrative 4’s space at 58 O’Connell Street.

I am a Limerick based musician, and I therefore face the difficulties surrounding the lack of public arts spaces in our city daily. Along with a number of other musicians and bands, I have rehearsed and performed in the Narrative 4 space with my band who travel to Limerick from Cork on a regular basis. While the renovation of the upper floors for residential use is welcomed, I’m deeply disappointed by the proposed plans to disrupt this unique cultural space in our city on the ground floor of 58 O’Connell Street.

Rehearsing and performing in this space, as the sun sets and the space lights up the street through the beautiful Victorian window, is a special and uplifting experience. Heads of passers by turn towards the light as they walk down O’Connell Street.

I think it would be a terrible shame to lose this space in its current form, and the window which illuminates and animates the street.

Kind regards,

Laura Duff
