Not Practical

In hindsight, the Idea of the safe route to school programme is exciting and very much needed but sections of the proposed plan are yet again not practical for pedestrians and car users in particular.

Firstly, a car park needs to be put in place for car users and hence we as a community can facilitate the plan going forward.

If we don’t have this in place then we cannot consider this proposal. i.e narrowing of junctions cannot be considered.

“96.2% of parents would support works at the front of school that improve student safety, putting pedestrians and cyclists first”

This survey is true if we can resolve the car parking issue.

Secondly, the idea of a shared pathway can create chaos with electric scooters flying by which could be potentially hazardous to pedestrians.
