The proposed development will consist of
Demolition of Existing Welfare Units and Installation of 11 new Welfare Units.
Hard Landscaping Including: Extending Concrete Paving areas on each Bay, Bin stores, upgrading asphalt on entrance road, new asphalt areas to improve access.
Upgrading of Perimeter and Bay Boundary Walls Including: Demolition and rebuilding of screen walls between bays, construction of new boundary bay walls for extended bay areas.
Upgrading of Services where required.

The proposal is accompanied by An Appropriate Assessment Screening Report under the Habitats Directive (92/43/EEC) and an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Screening Report under the EIA Directive 2014/52/EU. Once the process of public consultation has been completed, Limerick City & County Council will then proceed to complete the screening processes as mandated by Articles 81A (5)(a) and (6)(a) of the Planning & Development Regulations 2001.
Plans and particulars of the proposed development, to include copies of the EIA and AA Screening Reports, will be available for inspection and/or purchase at a fee not exceeding the reasonable cost of making a copy during office hours at the Customer Services Desk, Limerick City & County Council, Merchant’s Quay, Limerick, V94 EH90 and County Hall, Dooradoyle, Limerick V94 WV78 on each day during which the said offices are open for the transaction of business (excluding Bank Holidays) for a period beginning on 04th June 2024 and ending on 02nd July 2024 during office hours.Plans and particulars of the proposed development, to include copies of the EIA and AA Screening Reports are also available for inspection on the website of the local authority at https://mypoint.limerick.ie.
Submissions or observations with respect to the proposed development, the EIA and AA Screening Reports dealing with the proper planning and sustainable development of the area in which the development would be situated, may be made in writing addressed to Caroline Curley, director of Service, Limerick City and County Council, Merchant’s Quay, Limerick or online via https://mypoint.limerick.ieno later than 4.30pm on 02nd July 2024.
