PART 8 DEVELOPMENT

N21 COOLANORAN TRAFFIC CALMING SCHEME

In accordance with Part XI of the Planning & Development Act 2000 (as amended) and Part 8, Article 81 of the Planning and Development Regulations 2001 (as amended), notice is hereby given that Limerick City & County Council proposes to carry out improvement works on the N21 in the townlands of Coolanoran, Ardagh, and Ballymorrisheen, Ardagh,  Co. Limerick.

Nature and extent of the proposed development is as follows:

The proposed improvement works will be carried out over 270m on the N21 at Coolanoran, Ardagh and will provide for the following but not limited to;

  • The installation of designated cycle path,

  • The installation of buildouts,

  • Surface water drainage,

  • Pavement resurfacing,

  • Road markings,

  • Accommodation works and associated site works

 

Limerick City & County Council carried out an Appropriate Assessment (AA) Screening Report and has determined that a full Appropriate Assessment is not required in respect of this proposed development.

Limerick City & County Council has carried out an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Screening Report in accordance with the requirements of Section 50 (1) (e) of the Roads Act 1993 (as amended) and has determined that there is no real likelihood of significant effects on the environment. Accordingly, it has been determined that an EIA is not required in respect of this proposed development. Nonetheless, any person may within 4 weeks from the date of this notice apply to An Bord Pleanála for a screening determination. Such a submission should be addressed to the Secretary, An Bord Pleanála, 64, Marlborough Street, Dublin 1, D01 V902.

Plans and particulars of the proposed development will be available for inspection or purchase at a fee not exceeding the reasonable cost of making a copy from 9 am to 4 pm Monday to Friday from Thursday 5th May 2022 to Wednesday 8th  June 2022 (excluding bank holidays) at: -

  • Newcastle West Municipal District Office, Limerick City and County Council, Áras William Smith O’Brien, Gortboy, Newcastle West, Co. Limerick, V42 EH73

Plans and particulars of the proposed development will also be available for inspection online during the above timeframe at https://mypoint.limerick.ie.

Submissions or observations with respect to the proposed development dealing with the proper planning and sustainable development of the area in which the development will be situated may be made on or before 4 pm on Friday 24th June 2022 as follows;

Note: Only submissions made in the above manner will be considered as valid submissions for the purposes of the Chief Executive’s Report that will be presented to Council.
