Notice of Application to An Bord Pleanála for Approval
Pursuant to the requirements of Section 177AE of the Planning & Development Act 2000 (as amended) and the requirements of the Planning & Development Regulations 2001 (as amended), notice is hereby given that Limerick City and County Council intends to make an application for approval to An Bord Pleanála to carry out the following development in the townlands of Towlerton and Singland, Ballysimon, Co. Limerick.
The proposed development consists of:
- The construction of approx. 260m of new road corridor with a 6.2m wide carriageway, 2x2m footpaths, 2x2m landscaped verges and 2x2m off-road cycle tracks.
- The construction of a new surface water drainage system.
- The installation of a new public lighting system.
- The construction of a new culvert across the Towlerton Stream where the existing newly constructed link road terminates.
- All associated site development works.
A Natura Impact Statement (NIS) has been prepared in respect of the proposed development.
An Bord Pleanála may give approval for the development with or without conditions or may refuse the application for the development.
A copy of the plans and particulars including the Natura Impact Statement will be available for inspection and/or purchase at a fee not exceeding the reasonable cost of making a copy, from Saturday 29th July 2023 up to and including Monday 11th September 2023 during public opening hours (excluding bank holidays) at the Customer Services Desk, Limerick City & County Council, Merchant’s Quay, Limerick, V94 EH90 and at the Planning and Environmental Services Department, Limerick City & County Council Offices, Dooradoyle Road, Limerick, V94 WV78. Plans and particulars of the proposed development will also be available for inspection online during the above timeframes at https://mypoint.limerick.ie.
Submissions or observations may be made to An Bord Pleanála on the proposed development in relation to:
- The implications of the proposed development for proper planning and sustainable development in the area concerned.
- The likely effects on the environment of the proposed development, and
- The likely significant effects of the proposed development on a European Site if carried out.
Submissions or observations may only be made in writing to An Bord Pleanála, 64 Marlborough Street, Dublin 1, DO1 V902 not later than 5.30pm on Monday 11th September 2023.
A person may question the validity of a decision by An Bord Pleanála by way of an application for judicial review, under Order 84 of the rules of the Superior Courts (S.I. No.15 of 1986) in accordance with Section 50 of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended).
